Yes. Scritorio is designed around ordinary local project files. Your manuscript remains yours and stays useful outside the application.
Scritorio currently integrates with OpenAI, so you connect your own OpenAI account or supported API key. OpenAI currently includes limited access with its free account, which may be enough to begin; paid OpenAI plans provide more usage. OpenAI controls availability, billing, and limits, and those terms can change.
No. Scritorio does not plan to sell AI credits or maintain an AI usage budget. A future Scritorio subscription will cover the application, editorial workflows, curriculum, and product updates. Any OpenAI charges or plan limits stay with your OpenAI account.
Collaboration is not the launch focus. For now, each author should expect to use their own Scritorio account and subscription for paid editing, AI, and managed features.
